She came to South Africa in 1970, and in 1974 she was invited to join the Dressage Judges’ Panel and reached National ‘B’ Panel, judging up to and including Prix St Georges. I started riding at 7 and have competed in all disciplines. I currently compete in dressage at Novice, Advanced and Big Tour levels. I was awarded Gauteng Provincial Junior Colours in 1990 & 1991 and Adult Colours in 2003. I have spent time in the U.K at Jennie Loriston-Clarke’s yard and in Holland at Stoeterij ‘T Vierspan&Flevohorse. My passion is breeding and have been fortunate to breed two of my own horses, one of who I compete in Grand Prix and the other will start her career soon.
I studied at Technikon Pretoria and have a National Diploma in Equine Science. I joined the DSA team in August 2013 and left in March 2016 where after I worked at the SA Lipizzaners for a year and have now re-joined the DSA team.
I was born in Johannesburg. I started riding at the age of 5 at Bill Johnson’s stables in Bryanston. I have since then been involved with horses, having tried a few disciplines, including driving, but dressage is my first choice. My husband and two daughters also ride. Both of our daughters are successful dressage riders with the younger one having represented SA at the 2014 World Equestrian Games .
My husband and I live on a smallholding with dogs, horses and other beasts in Johannesburg.
